“ The nasi goreng was tasty, but my husband’s burger came with cold French fries, which was a bit disappointing. The restaurant has a lovely ambience, and with the adjoining cafe, they offer a great selection of coffees. I tried the avocado coffee—it wasn’t quite to my taste, but it was certainly an interesting experience. ”

“ Flavorful food, good service, great cocktails. Would be great for dinner with family, friends, or a date night. Try the Balinese urban salad, beef rendang, and nasi uduk. Was disappointed they didn't have the jackfruit slushie cocktail but will come back to try it sometime. ”

“ My partner and I are here last night, and it was amazing! To be clear, we live in WC and very rarely go out because the food he cooks at home is always so much better than what we get at a restaurant. Last night we decided to walk around downtown until we found a new place to try, and we landed in on SanDai. We sat on the front patio area. The ambiance was perfect for a date night- upscale but relaxed. When we had questions about the food, Chef Nora came out and spoke with us directly, and we learned a ton. The cocktails were great (Negroni and Red Sangria). As an appetizer, we had the Tahu Goreng, which was out of this world. If my carnivore partner says tofu was amazing, you’d better believe it! He generally won’t even eat it. For a main dish, he ate Iga Bakar ( BBQ’d short ribs), and the meat was falling off the bone. I don’t eat meat, but apparently that’s a good thing. He said it was spectacular! I ate Seafood Laksa Goreng, which was also incredible! I highly recommend SanDai. It’s worth every penny. Can’t wait to introduce it to my friends and family. ”

“ Cozy modern restaurant with delicious Indonesians / Malay cuisine. Beef stew with rice was hearty and filling; simple and elegant, a bit spicy, as expected. Breakfast special that wife ordered was also sumptuous, bit of fishies, fried chicken, blue rice hit the spot. Chewy mochi style waffle to finish and a highlight. Solid service all around though host might be a bit gruff at first. ”

“ I had dinner with a friend who is vegetarian and those options did not disappoint. The highlights for us were the beautiful gado gado salad and the garlic sauce tofu dish. For non-vegetarians, I recommend anything with the beef rendang. I’ve had it in a panini and in a pastry. Both scrumptious! This is one of my favorite places to eat at in downtown Walnut Creek. I also recommend their Kopi Bar coffee sampler. ”

“ What a surprise to find in Walnut Creek. The cuisine is a fusion of Singaporean, Malaysian and Indonesian cuisines. The food is delicious and if you like Thai food it will taste familiar. Just the right amount of spice without being spicy. We're so lucky to live in the bay are where we have such diverse cuisine. Go!!! I can't wait to go back and explore the rest of the menu. ”

“ Exotic Indonesian dishes that is complex but delicious! The Blue Pea Coconut rice was different but tasty. The Mee Goreng was a bit too spicy for me. Friendly accommodating staff. Clean and spacious. We'll come back to taste other dishes. ”
